Definition of a true salsa jam?
It's the performance on (Mon. Oct. 21,2002) with "Fania legend" Johnny Pacheco featuring vocalist Hector Casanova and Ray Viera...also "master violinist" Alfredo De La Fe. There were surprise guest performances by Papo Lucca (Sonora Ponceña), Jose Alberto "El Canario" and Little Johnny (LP percussionist & ex-Sonora Ponceña member).
It’s also Monday (Oct. 28, 2002) with Lebron Brothers, exclusively celebrating their 35th anniversary and practically setting the dance floor ablaze with plenty of Hot Salsa with Soul. Lead vocalist Luisito Ayala was on hand to please the audience and as always...came through like a prize fighter. The second set was good enough to put on the Madison Square Garden stage with surprise performers Jimmy Bosch, Bobby Allende & Marc Quiñones taking the stage to join in on the fun...and like that's not enough...our friend...singer, composer, actor, etc....Ruben Blades modestly makes his presence on stage. Ruben astounds the audience with his vocal improvisations. We were also honored with a guest visit by legendary Johnny Colon (Original Merencumbe-1972).
The only night where the selection of live acts, the high standards and the programming of the music
is done by yours truly... a DJ who's name is recognized around the world and for over 20 years,
has proudly catered exclusively to salsa dancers. Our goal is to maintain the Salsa scene
alive and kicking in New York City by offering a true Salsa night...we can not do it without your support.
Please drop in for a dance and say hello...Salsa Para Ti!!!
